earthcubeearthcube raises €3 Million seed funding to accelerate growth]]>, 17 Oct 2017 10:19:00 +0000
Today, we are thrilled to announce a €3 Million seed funding with 360 Capital Partners. This first fundraising round will enable us to double down on our commercial efforts and to continue the development of our state of the art artificial intelligence technology.
A unique way to enable global monitoring.Availability of satellite imagery is booming. With higher frequency, resolution and reduced costs, those images have become an unparalleled source of information to monitor operations across the planet. Our mission is to enable our customers to benefit from the wealth of information hidden in this ocean of pixels. We automatize the analysis of millions of square kilometers to deliver ready to use intelligence to operators.
Surveillance for customers with highest reliability requirements. Created in 2016, Earthcube offers a deep understanding of its customers’ operations together with advanced artificial intelligence solutions to alert on actual threats. No more. No less. Our technology combines know how of remote sensing sciences together with deep learning and computer vision approaches developed originally for medical imagery.
Ambitious goals for the future. We developed and implemented over the last year our technology to monitor infrastructures for customers from several industries. With this first financing round, we are doubling the size of the team to accelerate our commercial development and to develop additional applications.
“Within 5 years, our ambition is to become the leader of satellite based surveillance systems. We intend to bring the ability to monitor assets anywhere in the world many times per day. Our goal is to help better understand changes on the planet to make our customers’ operations safer, greener and more competitive”. Arnaud Guérin and Renaud Allioux, cofounders of Earthcube.
“We were seduced by Earthcube as it is entering a very high growth market at the right time now that imagery becomes more and more a commodity. Thanks to its experienced and passionate team, Earthcube now has enough fuel to launch its monitoring offer in orbit and become a leader in satellite imagery analysis.” François Collet and Alexandre Mordacq, 360 Capital Partners.
Thank you. We would like to take this opportunity to say a big thank you to our customers, partners and supporters who believed in us from the very first days. A big thank you as well to the team that has been working hard and with passion to build a great product. Today’s celebration wouldn’t have been possible if it weren’t for your support.

We take the opportunity of this video to thank Microsoft BizSpark Plus for their support -amongst other things, the access to Azure, their cloud computing service- and Agoranov for their backing.
Earthcube granted 1 M€ financial support by BPI]]>Earthcube, 20 Dec 2016 12:00:00 +0000
We are really honoured and proud be the 1st project in "development" category (project above 1.5M€) selected by BPI (the French Public Investment Bank) for a call for projects focused on developing space applications: the PIAVE!
This PIAVE was launched under the recommendation of the COSPACE to accelerate the French new space ecosystem. The COSPACE gathers key French organizations public (Ministry of Economy, Research, Defense, the CNES) and private (Airbus DS, Thales Alenia Space…) related to the space economy.
We are pretty excited about this news which comes after we got a label from the Aerospace Valley & Avenia earlier in September. This 1 M€ financial support will allow us to keep our strong momentum moving forward towards launching our commercial service.
The evaluation we received highlighted two key strengths in our approach: - partnering with a strong base of research institutes including ONERA, CNES and CNRS - having a strong focus on early interaction with customers and fast commercialization.
This is a small step for the European new space ecosystem but a giant leap for Earthcube!
More about the PIAVE here.
Earthcube partners with Exotrail]]>Earthcube, 14 Dec 2016 10:46:00 +0000
Earthcube and Exotrail have just signed a MoU to frame our collaboration and define our common goals.
Exotrail is a French startup who is developing a fully-integrated propulsion solution for small satellites, from an innovative electric thruster to a set of services and software to design, analyse and operate space missions.
Together we will work on a full mission study and evaluation of Exotrail miniaturized electric thruster potential for the deployment of Earthcube constellation, using Exotrail’s set of constellation performances analysis’ tools.
We are thrilled by this opportunity to work jointly with another New Space start-up gathering top tech-scientists in France. We hope it will bring even more innovations in the European market of small satellites. We believe this kind of technology can bring a real competitive advantage to our future constellation and we will do our best to bring Exotrail at least as much as they will bring us!

Yesterday was a big day: we have received the Green Tech Verte Award from Ségolène Royal, the French Minister of Environment, Energy & Sea.
Not only have we been selected along with 51 other candidates among 131 start-ups, we were selected as one of the seven companies to present our solution to the Minister herself during the awards ceremony!
The support of such Ministry means a lot to us: we will benefit from their support financially as well as technically. Indeed, the projects selected will receive a grant starting from 150 000€ all the way up to 500 000€ to make their project real. The resources of the Ministry will also be available to the winners of the prize. This includes organizations such as the IGN, Meteo France or Ademe but also an access to their network of potential customers such as the French local collectivities.
We are very excited about this chance to further accelerate on « green solutions »!

Almost half way to space in less than 6 months !]]>Earthcube, 27 Jun 2016 13:43:00 +0000
On Thursday 23rd, June 2016 we have initiated a series of airborne tests, starting with a stratospheric balloon launch, to validate our monitoring solution and test our payload .
We are happy to announce that this flight was successful and enabled us to validate several technological points.
The test included a genuine version of the sensor, prototype optics and electronics. Thermal control and calibration shutter had to be included in order to maintain the sensor in the right environmental condition and compensate for temperature variation.
CNES (French Space Agency) has done a tremendous work assisting us and giving us access to their facilities. Thanks to them we managed to test, code and assemble all parts in a very short time.
We are very proud to have achieved this first milestone and we intend to keep the rhythm for following tests during summer.
We would like to thank everyone at CNES for the support and in particular the Balloon division. We also had precious interactions with FullScale Labs and ONERA and would like to thank them for their availability.
